We identified the need for a quality voice communications solution for mobile personnel that avoids the deployment and coverage issues of WiFi, the handset problems of DECT and the high call costs of carrier-based GSM solutions. We selected two key proven technologies to create this solution - GSM and IP.

The result was PMN. A Private Mobile Network created using standard GSM technology and supporting standard GSM mobile handsets. Network coverage is based on Pico cell technology that gives greater coverage per unit, reducing support and maintenance costs, and provides superior handling of changes to the area networked. Using private GSM also ensures security for users and the opportunity to reduce mobile call costs by routing calls across the private network and connected IP networks.

The PMN technology is now built into products addressing specific market needs such as rapid deployment from a portable unit or a vehicle, coverage in specific locations such as offices or ships, and use in remote situations such as temporary encampments and areas with no macro GSM coverage.

The resulting solutions are available as ready built integrated and configured products, which can be provided as a hosted or on-premise solution. Alternatively, they are available as components for building into your own solution using the Private Mobile eXchange and Base Transceiver Units and undertaking self-configuration and installation.
