What was once an antagonistic question to hardware vendors is fast becoming a topic of serious debate. Only a few years ago it would be unheard of for organisations, other than those in the mobile industry, to seriously consider ditching the fixed handset. Mobile phones were only for mobile staff and they were usually senior executives and sales professionals accounting for less than 20% of most organisations.

Remote Asset Deployment an Emergency

In an emergency situation, the most important consideration is to control and contain the scene. The backbone for that is an effective communications strategy with an emphasis on field personnel. The ability to remain in contact within blue light services such as police, fire and ambulance and with operational centres could be the difference between a controlled situation and one which would be potentially hazardous for both operatives and the general public.
